Waiting for the Pain to Subside

We took a trip to Nauvoo, Ill and did a lot of walking, Zachary's legs started hurting so we stopped to give him a chance to rest, he found this spot on the tongue of a covered wagon to take a break. This position is typical for Zachary to be in when he is in a lot pain.

A Misunderstanding and Physical Therapy

Still no real diagnosis on Zachary, I was nervous and worried for nothing, cause the MRI that was done could not be read well by the Neurologist, she has ordered another MRI at Children's, we won't get any results today either ... :( don't get me wrong I love, love, love roller coasters, just not thrilled at all by this one. Well, off we go ... Oh, for the love! Coaster has come to a complete halt at the very top of an upcoming downfall. They scheduled us for a CT
Scan when the Dr ordered MRI with contrast. Trip here would have been a waste if it weren't for the koi ... now off to physical therapy.

Zachary loves the Koi fish at Vanderbilt, he's always wanting to feed them.

... now off to physical therapy with Courtney, Zachary's physical therapist, and let's not forget Patrick.

There's More Going on Than Contractures

Zachary at Dr. Johnson's office - We started taking him back to Physical Therapy because the pain in his legs and his mobility has progressively gotten worse. His therapist felt there was more going on than what was previously diagnosed and referred him to an Orthopedist (Dr. Johnson) who took Xrays and ordered an MRI to rule out some things like a Tethered cord and such. He had his MRI done today and translated into english that we could understand. Right now, there is still no true diagnosis. We only know that there is an abnormality of "Z's" spinal cord, there's inflammation, pocket of fluid and thickening of the lower lumbar and sacral dura (I had to google some of this, so don't feel bad if you have to as well) Z has an appointment to see a pediatric neurologist on Friday morning. Things are moving very quickly which is very scary, but things are moving which means a diagnosis for
"Z" and the relief of his pain are just around the corner.
